I'm completely stymied. My wireless keyboard between one key stroke to another. Changed batteries. Turned off the computer. Changed to another usb port. Bought a new keyboard. Reinstalled all the drivers. What happens when I plug in the usb receiver is that it lights up but I get no beep that there is a new keyboard detected.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Suggestions of what to do next?

You bought a new one and they both dont work? Do they show at all under devices even as corrupted?

ideas that come to mind are youve disabled windows auto driver updates while troubleshooting other windows problems or maybe you live in a very humid place and you have to let them dry out.

The new one didn't work either. How do I enable windows driver update? I went into the device manager and removed and reinstalled. Didn't troubleshoot

I live in Stockholm so humidity isn't really a problem 😉

I got a wired and it work's fine
so its only the wireless ones not working huh? do you have another system to use the dongle on? Thats step one to figure out if its your ports or not. Other than that i have no idea what else it could be cockblocking your wireless connections

I have x570 gaming edge and never had issues with wireless things

The wireless mouse works fine with the dongle. It's very strange. I'm going to try and find someone with another computer to hook it up with. That is the same dongle and keyboard. If it does work, not sure how to continue forward

Most likely it will work since you bought 2 different(?)wireless keyboards and they both dont work.

Also try uninstalling the drivers from dev manager and restart with it plugged in if you havent already(oh you did nvm).... or if you have a usb hub connect it through that? just throwing ideas (or it might be wifi interfering with the connection? no clue)

If they work on other devices and you dont get any help from the internet just take it to a technician if you wanna spare the money, otherwise, wired devices have less input lag!!!

Yeah, I bought a new wired keyboard in a panic and am using it right now. I should always have a reliable keyboard/mouse as a backup. And god lord, just the thought of lugging my desktop anywhere boggles the mind. My entire system has been kind of wonky lately. Maybe reformat and reinstall everything and see if that helps. Would definitely be the easiest and cheapest way.

Yea i feel that. I'd reinstall windows if more things are off(and depending on how much you have the patience to re-set it to what it was haha) But after you test if it works on other systems.
