Dead Laptop. This part of the mainboard heats up when electricity is applied but no LEDs. What components are these? (pic)

No LEDs light up when power is applied but this part of the mainboard heats up rather quickly. What is going on here?

I can't tell exactly what component is heating up because the mainboard is still installed so all I can say is the red rectangle area is heating up.

What components are heating up? What are my repair options? I'm terrible with a soldering iron and I'm guessing this is past my skill level.

Your repair options are limited. It's very rare that you swap out components. Typically, the mobo is replaced. Depending on the age of the laptop and the cost of a new mobo, it might be better to just replace the laptop.
