Dead mobo or CPU

Running a 3570k on a Gigabyte Z77X-D3H.
Memory was tested and is good.
Problem is that after testing two working PSUs (one is a 550w and the other is a 500, both generic) I'm getting a continuous short post beep that lasts for a few seconds before the pc restarts (according to gigabyte the beeping means dead PSU).
I get no screen and can't enter bios.
Can you help me spot the culprit?

if it was the CPU then they system wont even power on no fans nothing so try checking the board
may be different frinds board
only way to came in conclusion is hit and trial

Thanks for the quick answer. That's what I was thinking, I just wasn't sure because I'm not that knowledgeable about troubleshooting.
Gonna give it a go in a couple weeks when my cousin brings me a 1155 board to test it out.
