Dead Monitor or Stuck in Sleep Mode?

So long story short, I don't know WHAT happened other than this: I was attempting to use FN and F12 (the brightness key) on my Razor Deathstalker keyboard. I either hit either combinations: FN SYS RQ, FN SCR LOCK, FN PAUSE BREAK or those combinations with ALT instead of FN.

Either way, I wound up shutting my computer off entirely. I disable all manner of sleep/hibernation, so I don't know what happened. I pressed a key (space bar) and nothing happened. Hit the reboot button, my computer 'woke up' entirely as I'd left it, with all programs running (including a game I was in the process of, so I know it didn't shut down per say).

Ever since then my monitor (Acer X203W) is weird when I turn it on. The power button flickers blue and it won't turn on for quite some time (2-5 minutes). Prior to all of this, the screen flickered a lot and I re-adjusted the VGA cable it was plugged in with. As far as I know, the cable is not damaged and it IS connected properly.

I'm stumped. Do I need a new monitor? It's not exactly in the budget. I've gone through and reset Windows power settings to disable all type of screen/monitor sleep. I've 'reset' the settings on my monitor itself. Do anyone have an idea at all? I'm not tech stupid, so this is clearly puzzling. Much thanks.

Also: on Windows 7 64bit (I can post other specs if necessary).

Try removing the vga cable and then turning it on, if it now turns on (and says no signal) in the normal time-frame then it doesn't sound like your monitor to me.

If the Monitor is any good, when you power it on without a pc connected, you will still be able to access its' various menu's. If it can't do that then your monitor or its power supply is kaput.

If you boot the pc, with or without the monitor attached, if it works you would still hear the windows startup 'music' if your speakers are on/connected. This is a good sign that the pc is fine.

It might sound complicated however it might just be a bit loose try redoing or undoing the screws on the monitor it will take a couple of mins. Check if the fuse is faulty or the monitor might just be too old, I think this is a hardware problem on the monitor side and if it is than no one could help you fix it unless they can see it, I hope this helped.

I already disconnected everything (VGA and power cables), checked them, plugged them back in securely. That was the first thing I checked when things went wonky.
