Dead onboard sound?

So, I was installing my new GPU rx 470 and when I was ready I booted the computer and then I found I have got no sound at all I tried reinstalling my drivers a few times even reinstalled the Windows but nothing seems to work so my friends asked me if I turned off the psu to not produce power and if I grounded myself and I told them that I didnt do that because I didn't know I should and they told me I might fried the onboard sound card on my motherboard how can I check if this is true? My motherboard is Gigabyte B85-HD3-A

you did install the gpu system under power then you might have more the a no sound issue .

you did not install the nvidia driver from the asus strix 750 ti from system so get ddu remove the amd driver then system off put back in the nvidia gpu and see if you could have sound .

well i needed an upgrade so i sold it and bought this one so i dont think i can do this
