Dead pci-e x79?

I have two graphic cards (Hd6870+hd6850)

they work in slots one and three together but none of them are detected in slot two.

When I have one card in slot two windows still boots without a display.


This slot did detect 2nd card yesterday but today it does not.


Any chance it is dead?

Yup definitely dead, nothing works on it. FFS back to retailer....

what motherboard? perhaps a bios config?

ASUS P9X79 deluxe, care to talk me through one?

Windows boots without a graphic card with this system.

Bios has been reset, even took out the CMOS battery and still nothing. Fans do not go crazy and there is definitely power going through the lane.
