Dead pixel or Video card problem?

Hello,
I have a rectangle on my screen about 1/4 in x 1in. First I thought dead pixels, but it's moving randomly around the screen. Thoughts?

Have you tried a different monitor and/or a different video card? If it's moving around it's probably a bad video card.

I'm sorry but your description is pretty vague. You have a black rectangle? Its moving constantly, or every time you start your pc? It happens both in 3D applications and 2D (desktop)? Does it happen before windows loads?

Sorry, I will try to do better.

It is a gray rectangle. It moves randomly during the day. Sometimes disappears all together, then come back hours later.

Unfortunately I don't have a spare display or card. Although it looks I may have one soon.
