Deaktop only POSTS when it is laying flat.

I recently bought an SSD and after installation my PC started to freeze. After some debugging, it turns out that my GTX 1070 GPU(I didnt even touch this how did it break) is having some issues. So basically when the pc is laying flat(motherboard parallel to floor) it works fine. As soon as I lift it upright it does not even POST. I have an Asus 170Z motherboard and the vga_led light is supposed to light up and then turn off but it does not even turn on. Meanwhile all the fans and lights stay on.

In a desperate attempt i took everything out and reconnected everything but still same issue. I tried without the ssd but no help.

Do you guys have any suggestions as to why this started happening?

Really desperate to get this fixed. I really love this thing and it really bothers me that I cant use it propery

Do you have a different PCI slot on the motherboard u can test, or a different PC you can put the 1070 in? The Motherboards PCI-E Slot might be defective.

You might try reseating the CPU and CPU cooler. Make sure to tighten the cooler down evenly and don't over-tighten.

It sounds like gravity is your enemy here - the 1070 is a heavy card and it must be having trouble staying seated securely when the case is standing upright. Make sure the motherboard is mounted securely, and then reseat the graphics card.

So the solution for me was to reseat the cpu cooler. It was a little loose and after reseating it was working fine. Thanks everyone for the help
