I thought testing showed that hybrid drives are pretty useless.... Maybe it would help with power consumption but performance is still lacking.

The Canon 3400is isn't as good of a deal as the Canon 4000is for only 10 dollars more. Paying a little extra gets you an 8x zoom instead of the 5x. I just ordered the 4000is after seeing that today.

I wouldn't mind testing that hybrid drive out for myself. Mind you, perhaps not. Seagate hasn't got a very good recent track record for reliability. WD needs to make a few hybrids.

Also what's with the paltry 8GB cache? It needs at least 16GB, preferably 24GB+
