The Mitsubishi XX638 is the new low tier version of their new line of DLP TVs.

The 73" version (73683) has a $500 instant discount at Dell.com (Final total $1600).

The mid tier models, XX783, and the higher tier models, xx883, don't seem to be on sale through Dell. Mitsubishi's TV website has a good compare tool that lists the different features side by side if you're curious to know the differences.

My last TV was a DLP and while it is actually a decent picture, it just doesn't compare side by side to an LCD. I'd say its almost as good as a plasma though.
