I expected the Dell "Professional" monitor to have a better contrast ratio than 1000:1. Even for the low ~$188. The 60" Samsung sounds great tho!

Contrast ratios are the most misleading/useless spec on monitors tbh.

And that 2g 5870 is a steal.

What you really want a monitor from the Dell UltraSharp line, like a U3011 which was on sale not too long ago for right around $1,100.

Yeah the U2711 is the best of the ultrasharps (for price/performance) I have seen it at $800

Which makes sense, that is unless you know where I can get a 23" IPS panel for under $200 somewhere else.
