Give me at least 1200 vertical rows... I'm so sick of 1080p on computer monitors, my 12 year old Sony Trinitron supported 2560x1600 and now you can't even find reasonable 1920x1200 displays.

Just not going to happen. With the progress of 'HD', they're most likely going to follow the 16:9 format and the 16:10 is a thing of the past. But if the trend is accurate and continues, it will lead to '4k' tech with tons more pixels (enough our current hardware might even be deemed inefficient to push it, especially with people like myself with sensative eye sight who 60Hz causes pain and they want/need to maintain 100+ (Obviously that also means waiting longer for faster refresh capable units too.. weee...))

16:10 is mostly IPS panels and are expensive because of this.

16:9 panels are TN and are really cheap, except when you start going up to the 2560x range.

I too hate 1920x1080 and want a 2560x1440/1600 panel for $200. If they can put a 2560x1600 screen on a tablet and sell it for cheap, then they can do it on a monitor and sell it for cheap.

Exactly, if they can do these retina displays on tablets they should be able to put them on a production monitor for even less $. This will happen eventually. Quad HD should be coming soon anwyays but I want my vertical space increased for production purposes on my desktop monitor.

May I suggest two 1920 x 1080 LCDs, mounted one above the other on a "vertical dual-monitor stand"? I run a pair of 22s this way, at work and at home. Actually, Each is a 1920x1200 Lenovo L220X--one of only two or three 22s ever made in that resolution.
