Question Debating between a RTX 3050 (4GB GDDR6) and a RTX 3060 (6GB GDDR6) for a notebook for the next 5 years.

Obviously the 3060 is better, and the 3050 is cheaper.

I'd like to purchase this notebook and have it last for some 5 years. I don't mind having to play the games on medium or even medium-low if need be, but i'd like to at least have 30 fps by the end of these 5 years.

Do you think a 3050 can last that long? Share your opinions!

I live in Brazil and the price difference between both is quite subtantial, going from 6000 to 7500 BRL for the whole notebook.

It is more that the 3060 is faster and has more VRam, but I don't game so I can't help you with that part on longevity.

It depends on your performance and budget requirements and what games you want to play. The 3050 may be fine for modern AAA gaming at 1080p 30 FPS on low to medium quality settings for a few years, but we don't know what games will require in 5 years or if your own requirements will change over time.

But generally speaking, if you can afford it, get the best thing you can buy. If you can't afford it, then don't get it.
