I have recently run into annoying computer crashes and now hardware issues. I have decided to replace some hardware and upgrade a bit over time. Just wondering if the below build is good and efficient. The below list is a mixture of the current computer and the new parts planned (Motherboard, CPU, RAM)

The GPU is on the list of things to upgrade as well, I am just putting off that investment for a bit.

CPU: i7-8700K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x16) DDR4 3000
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold - 1000W
GPU: EVGA GTX 690
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z730 Aorus Gaming 5 (rev 1.0)
Cooling: Corsair H100i

The current CPU is an i7-4930K
Current RAM is G Skill Ripjaws X 16GB (4x4) DDR3 2133
Current Motherboard dis ASUS ROG Rampage IV Black Edition

What, specifically, is wrong with your current platform?

What is the intended use-case? Since you tagged this in PC Gaming, I'm assuming predominantly gaming.
Personally, I don't see any real reason to jump from a 4930K to an 8700K, unless this is a production/content creation rig too - and if that were the case, you could make an argument for other CPUs too.

Assuming the hardware(?) issue can be fixed, your gaming experience would be better improved bumping your GPU from the 690 to, say a 1070TI (which would be similar money, if not cheaper vs the CPU/MB/RAM upgrade)

Right now my current issue is with either the RAM or the motherboard. (I haven't had too much time to really dig into it) But I have 16 GB of RAM. It was recently only showing 8 and now it is down to only seeing 4GB. If it turns out to be the motherboard, my idea was to upgrade to get it to support DDR4 (which unfortunately doesn't look like any of those boards support LGA 2011).
