So I had very recently decided to buy a GTX 980 Ti but after a lot of thinking & advice from the lovely community here, I have decided to settle with a GTX 970 instead. However, I have some questions before I take the plunge:

1) I recall that issue with the GTX 970 being a 3.5Gb card & the remaining 500mb causing issues with graphic hungry games such as Skyrim, GTA V etc. Is that still an issue ? Did anyone else face such issues with their 970s ?

2) I want to game at high settings @ 1080p @ 60Hz. Will this card be enough for my requirements ? (my games include ARMA 2, ARMA 3, GTA V, Skyrim, Star Wars Battlefront, Black Ops 3, DayZ Standalone, Dying Light, Metro: Last Light)

3) Will my CPU bottleneck my system when I'm using a GTX 970 ?

4) Should I just buy a GTX 980 instead ?

Oh wonderful community, please help me again 😀

Solution
500w PSU is plenty.

My i7 4770k, gtx 970, 16 gb ddr3 ram, 3 hdds, 1 ssd and 8 12cm fans consume 260w from the wall at full load.

Sure that AMD CPU uses more power, but even if it uses 100w more, that means that 500w PSU is more than plenty. 750 is a bit of an overkill, but nice if you plan to add another 970 (which I don't recommend. get 1070 or whatever its called when it comes out instead)
the only concern I have is with all those fans, a power hungry cpu and leds will there be enough power for the 970... if there is u should be fine with the 970.. and yeah should be able to play 1080 with some tweaks here and there in setting..

1) Its VRAM is not an issue when playing at 1080p resolution.

2) It's actually pretty great for 1080p gaming.

3) No bottlenecking so far.

4) GTX 970 is plenty for 1080p,i don't see any reason to spend extra in GTX 980 when playing at 1080p,you can easily OC the GPU and it'll perform mostly like the GTX 980.
