deciding between 2 monitors, 144hz or 60hz ips

hello everyone, my first post here, normally use /r/buildapc but i have read a lot of posts on here and seem more helpful.

So i am nearly done building my first gaming pc and i had a 144hz monitor in mind but after thinking about it i dont think i'm going to need it much.

My build has an i5 4690k cpu and a gtx 970 which i will eventually be going sli. I play a lot of games such as cs:go, dayz, arma 3, skyrim, fallout, and i'm going to be buying more games since my new pc can run them unlike my current laptop.

Now, this may sounds dumb but i will eventually be going dual monitors, and while you will say it doesn't matter just get one of each, that won't be for a while, but may eventually use 144hz as my main gaming monitor, or use 144hz for fps games and the 60hz for other games. I only seeing a 144hz monitor affecting my gameplay in cs:go.

I recently found out about ips monitors, as in this morning and i am very intrigued by them. I have done a little research and i am still a bit confused over what ips monitors are exactly, but i am wondering the main advantages of ips over 144hz or vice versa. The response time on the monitors is what's pushing my away from an ips monitor. 1ms as apposed to 5ms or so.

The summary shows that for gaming purposes you may not see any improvement. I like that BenQ over the Asus with that said.
