Deciding Between 3 Monitors (Need a bit of help) THANK YOU!

Hello, i've made a couple posts trying to figure out which monitor i should buy tonight, i'm really wanting 1 of the 3 but i can't seem to decide which would be best for me.

My current setup is:
1080p 144HZ ACER MONITOR
I7 6700k
GTX 1080 STRIX
16GB DDR4
ASUS Z170-A

I've been told mixed things about 4K and 1440P @ 144HZ so i'd just like to get some more opinions before i buy one of these.

I'd really enjoy a 4K monitor but i'd hate to be disappointed with input lag or anything similar to that, i'm not sure if freesync would fix that or not.

I'm into a lot of different games, such as walking dead story, life is strange and then i enjoy games such as CSGO or Siege, i was definitely interested in the 144hz 1440P but i'm not sure if my 1080 could push 144fps in most games i'd be playing, i might be wrong (This is where i'd need some help)

With a GTX 1080 even @ 1440p some games can't max out all settings. 4k is even worse. I'd do the 1440p.

That's what i was thinking, i had a couple people tell me going with 4K would be better futureproof just in case i ever wanted to upgrade my GPU (Which i plan on doing in a couple months) but then people saying 1440p and the gtx 1080 get along well.
