Deciding to leave

Well after much debate and now carrying a Sprint phone and a Nextel.
I've decided based on cost, I'm going to close my Sprint account. It
also helps that Cingular just put a tower down the street from the
house. But after shelling out $110 for a month, USAA seperating their
alliance, it just seems I need to look for a better way to insure I
have coverage at home where I spend most of my time.

I appreciate the information I've gotten the times I've asked. Thank
you all.

Wow, no more USAA discount on Sprint?

I think Sprint is going to continue to offer the discount but my
understanding is we will loose the dedicated support.

Cingular, on paper, is coming across as a better deal for my money.
The way I see it, since I have Nextel, it will eventually move to
Sprint just like ATT moved to Cingular. Regretably, my main
communication at work is Nextel. I need something for my own personal
use as well.

The big thing that turns me on with Cingular is they throw roaming
with their Nationwide plans that they offered me. I have Free and
Clear America with Sprint. I have Blackberry service with Nextel. I
think Cingular can can replace Sprint and deliver. The part I like on
Nextel is the Black Berry side, their Navigation software with GPS,
and the PTT side. Sadly most folks that work with my State Agency
here in Florida is Nextel.

I have till Aug 15th I think to make my decision, so the research
continues to find the bad side.

From what I have seen of friend's Cingular phones, the performance in
outlying areas here is Southern California cannot match the Sprint network.
My friends are constantly borrowing my Sprint phone when we are traveling.

And the one friend I have who is on Nextel with Blackberry service is
constantly borrowing my Samsung i500 because he never has a signal. I live
in NYC.
