Going to be used for games, movies, general office work.

I found 3 that looked quite good, but can't decide between.

1. Sony SDMHS95PB
2. Samsung 970P
3. ViewSonic VP930b

1. http://www.sony.co.nz/products/product.asp?ssid=1785934208
2. http://product.samsung.com/cgi-bin/nabc/product/b2c_product_detail.jsp?eUser=&prod_id=LS19VDPXHQ/XAA
3. http://www.viewsonic.com/products/desktopdisplays/lcddisplays/proseries/vp930b/index.htm

Some info I am unsure of, and need someone to confirm:
The Sony has 12ms black-white, 6ms grey-grey
The Samsung has 6ms grey-grey, but what is the black-white?
Viewsonic has 8ms grey-grey, 20ms black-white

So, what do people recommend?

Oh, and what is the difference between the VP930b and VP191b?

Any suggestions or comments relevant to lcd's in general are also welcome, as it is not a topic I am very knowledgable about.

Thanks

It seems to only have 550:1 contrast compared to 1000:1
Will this be a noticeable difference? I think perhaps I would rather have better (noticable) image quality than an extremely fast response time.

I think I need to find a shop where I can check out these screens.

well, I have the sony one and while the picture and color is excellent, the response rate is utter garbage... worse than a 25ms.. games are almost unplayable 'cause you'll be getting headaches... hell it even annoys me in Windows when dragging stuff around... the ghosting is aweful...

but then again it might just be that my panel is defective... I'll soon know 'cause I'm returning it to Sony for a check (I doubt however that those idiots will admit that it is faulty..)

Ok, well keep us updated. Hopefully you can get a replacement if it is defective. That screen seems amazingly good specwise to me. Maybe I should go for the samsung one, as it has faster response time than the viewsonic. Not that I know what the samsung black>white response time is.
