We are looking at ways to make the new JOL3 deck submission process easier.
Toward that end, I wonder if people could give me some information on
deckbuilder programs. I don't use any myself.

1) What is the most popular program? ARDB? ELDB? Something else?
2) What kind of formats are available as output format from these programs?

Currently, JOL3 accepts only the complete, correctly-spelled name of each
card. So, "The Rumor Mill, Tabloid Newspaper" would work, but simply "Rumor
Mill" or "rumour mill" would not work. I presume that each of these programs
outputs this way?

(Non-Americans should ignore the fact that the word "rumour", when spelled
*correctly*, has a "u" in it. Silly Americans :)

Also, JOL3 allows multiple entries of each card, such as:

3x Flash
5x Howler

....will work, but:

3 x Flash
Howler x5
TWENTY-ONE Aid from Bats

....etc would not work.

If someone could fill me in, I would appreciate it.

Cheers,
WES

ELDB is still quite popular, but only the database is still updated.
The front-end program is not developed anymore, so that newer concepts
from the game are missing (Group 4, Event cards).

In my opinion, ELDB is slowly going to fade away - so, if you would
have to decide between formatting for ELDB and ARDB, I would recommend
favoring the latter.

ELDB: ELDB File, Text, HTML, JOL
ARDB: XML, Text, HTML, JOL

No, they don't...

As for your example:

ELDB: "Rumor Mill, Tabloid Newspaper, The"
ARDB: "Rumor Mill, Tabloid Newspaper, The"

ARDB also lets you import ELDB files, which is also very nice.

It's on the Deck Builder menu. Click on File | Import ELD deck (or
press Ctrl+E).

I currently use either ARDB, either the Fragment, which is an adaptation of
ELDB and its only current chance for survival. But I'd say it's more useful
for reading old ELDB files, and ARDB will win, if only for 3 reasons : it is
made by a crazy but very nice frenchman, it features Anarchs, and it has
automatic update downloads.

How? I've tried to find a way to import any of my decks, and I haven't found
out the way.
