a while ago i noticed that every game i play never uses more than 2.5 GB of RAM sometimes even less then it switches to Page Files which causes the games to stutter ( I tried lowering and even turning off page files but it causes the system to run out of RAM while playing even if the RAM is not actually half full) so i checked my GPU details and found out that there is 3055 MB of my RAM is being used as "Shared System Memory" and i have no idea how to lower it and i have only 6 GBs of RAM (i know it's not good enough but i can't increase it right now).

Games that i tried that should use more RAM :
GTA V
The Evil Within 2
Dishonored 2
Shadow Warrior 2

PC Specs:
OS: Windows 10 64 Bit
RAM: 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz
2GB DDR3 1600 MHz
CPU: Intel Core I5 2500K
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1050 OC 2GB GDDR5

Check in bios, it might be that the igpu is using it, personally i've found disabling the igpu to cause issues further down the line if you have problems, but dropping it to 128Mb or lower would be fine.

Can you post an image of your memory useage from task manager?

Unfortunately, you can’t lower the shared ram for the graphics card. Try to lower the settings in games, si they won’t need much more than 2GB that are available on you graphics card. As for the page file, system managed setting is good, it takes the space from your drive, not from your ram.

what seems to escape everyone is on a 6GB of ram system seeing little over 2.5GB of ram for gaming is not unheard of, as Windows does have a 4GB requirement..

Boot windows in Bios, how much ram does it show available ?
Boots in windows, then after launching it, open a windows explorer window, click on this PC, then in toolbar (computer) click on system properties
how much ram is available there?

i tried decreasing it from the Bios to 128 MB but it didn't work because my Dedicated GPU is the one taking the RAM and not the IGPU.

In Bios it says i have 6144 MB of RAM
in windows it says i have 6.00 GB of RAM

the problem is even if the game does not need more than 2GB VRAM (which is what i always consider while changing the graphic settings) it will almost always need more RAM than the available 3 GB limit because the rest it taken by the GPU and the page file is very slow to replace the real RAM.

I think your confusing yourself.

IPGU = on board video card and ram content/size is controlled in BIOS
GPU - extra card in PCIE Slot and it will only used what ever the card RAM it was designed with , in your case the 2GB of ram ob the video card is independent and will no get bigger than that unless you replace the video card.

SDRAM on motherboard ram = 6GB and GPU Ram = 2GB, they do not MIX, append of trade to each other. ever.

what i understand is that the "Shared System Memory is for when the GPU exceeds the VRAM so it uses the Shared RAM to keep working, the problem is games never exceed 2GB VRAM on me so i prefer if i can use more RAM and not VRAM.

Using MSI Afterburner, anyway i am going to borrow 8 GB of RAM from one of my friends to see if it solves the problem.
i am not at home right now so i can't take a screenshot.
