While I was installing a Ram card I accidentally touched the circuit board of the back of the graphics card (actually got pushed a bit) after when I switched on the PC there was no display. The fan of the graphics card was working fine, Then I connected it to the On-board VGA port and then the display came. What had really caused the problem? I even discharged myself, most importantly the Ram is working fine. I tried re-installing it but it didn't work and the there was no physical damage.

Solution
Static electricity is only one possible problem. These circuit boards are not strong enough to stand up to abuse. "Pushed in a bit" is not good.

I'd try the card in another computer and/or try another working card in this computer. If there is damage, you need to figure out if the card is damaged or the motherboard slot.

Solution
The following day I tried again and that time it actually worked! BUT when I switched on my PC for the second time after a while the same problem occurred (i.e no display from dedicated graphics card)
I removed and re-insatlled my graphics card but the problem remained
