I have a 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 and while looking at my PC's performance, I observed I had a Total available graphics memory of 4096 MB but my Dedicated graphics memory is only 1024 MB, the rest being Shared Memory.

Why is that? Is there a way to "fix" this ?

Hi, shared memory for a graphics card means that the graphics will use part of the main system RAM rather than having its own dedicated RAM built in. Some cards allow you to set the amount of RAM that can be shared in this way (always assuming that you have enough system RAM installed. The allocation is usually made in your BIOS settings and is incremental (i.e. 8Mb, 16Mb, 32Mb, 64Mb or 128Mb)
The upper amount will depend on the total RAM installed.
