[SOLVED] Dedicated Programs Drive

Would having a separate drive for programs make it faster:

M.2 (OS) + SATA SSD (P)
SATA SSD (OS) + SATA SSD (P)
SATA SSD (OS) + SATA HDD (P)

I'm not asking which is the best setup, I'm just wondering what your thoughts are in each situation? Would having a M.2 for the OS and a SATA SSD for programs be negligible? What about the others?

Solution
Having all your programs on an m.2 would be the fastest. (Not counting a raid 0 with 2 - m.2 drives)

It all comes down to how much storage you need.

If all you play are 2-3 steam games with no other files then a 512 gigabyte m.2 drive would be perfect.

If you play 6-7 steam games and have a 4+ terabyte movie collection then you would want to go with a 1 terabyte m.2 for games and a raid 5 consisting of 3 or 4 - 4TB hard drives for your movies.
