I recently bought an MSI GTX 1060 6GB graphics card, however my system is only showing 2048mb dedicated memory.

So just wondering why 6gb isn't showing up as dedicated?
I've updated my motherboard bios and I do have the latest drivers installed.

I'm not sure where you were seeing this, but I know my GTX 1060 6GB (and other's as well) only showed 4GB of vram when I was using Heaven Benchmark. From what I remember it was nothing to worry about.
I had almost same issue. I bought last week RX 480 Nitro+ OC which is 8GB my shared memory was 3840MB. I posted the issue here one guy said He has Geforce 1070 and it shows on him 16GB shared memory I really don't know how this stupid shared memory works
