Deepcool Lucifer V2 CPU Cooler on a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI Motherboard?

Hey I was wondering if a Deepcool Lucifer V2 with the included fan would fit on a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI motherboard with Corsair Vengeance Pro DRR3 2400mhz 16gb RAM?

It's a huge cooler and usually covers the first 2 ram slots.

+1 to SR-71 Blackbird, you will likely lose use of the two RAM slots that are nearest of the socket.

Will it mount? Yes. Will it's size cause other problems? Likely

I own it , covers my first to ram slots , so I have LP ram.

Modern CPUs are faster than most RAM available on the market. This means that if you take away the extra bandwidth offered by a multi-channel architecture, then the CPU may be kept waiting for data from RAM, even if all it needs to do is to load it into L2 cache (or vice versa).

Each color DIMM slot on that motherboard is a channel. You have two channels of up to two DIMMs.

I strongly recommend getting a cooler that will not cover the DIMM slots.

I am having a computer shop install the parts so they will probably mount it so the RAM fits.

LP fits under it , you just mount the fan a tad higher on the heatsink.

Have you made sure that they know what they're doing? I've been screwed over by many "computer shops" and most "computer doctors" just load more "preventative programs" onto your machine and bog down the CPU and disk.

I don't have a problem with either of those components, I just want to make sure you don't have any problems.

Wait a sec, do low profile DIMMs come with heatsinks or not? Having RAM heat problems could ruin the experience of using a high end motherboard and CPU

They are widely known. They are Canada Computers and I purchased all the parts from the store and they told me it will all fit fine.

I took a look and the cooler will only cover the first DIMM slot and not the other three meaning that it could work.

Okay, just be sure that your DIMMs are not touching the heatsink.

If you think you're good to go, you've heard about all of my being cautious, so I guess just go for it.

Careful, don't force your DIMMs into a slot where they cannot stand straight because of the heatsink. They should not make any contact.

Beautiful! I wont be using the first slot so I don't think it should be a problem. Thank you for all of your helpful advice!
