DeepWeb and a Proxy

So I recently watched a Matthew Santoro Video where it was Top 10 Creepiest Websites and the First was the Dark Web where everything on the internet is. So I did some more research and realized that I need a Tor Browser, but I also looked up that when accessing it you need a proxy for safety purposes. But what is a proxy and how does it work, also how will I get one??

Any help is much appreciated, also I'm probably letting my curiosity get the better of me

perhaps you would be better staying away from the dark web

most of the stuff on there would be illegal like child pornography, snuff films,stolen credit cards etc

and despite tor and a proxy dont think those sites arent monitored by law enforcement agencies

yes they are harder to monitor and shut down but not impossible

and if you get caught dont think saying i was just curious will help you a lot
