My wifi up until today has been running near perfectly for at least 6 months. today the speed would crash very often. downloading a game on steam i would have 2.5mb/s then it would go down to 1kb/s for at least 5 minutes at a time. That was super annoying so i decided to reset my router. I pressed the button on the back for about 10-15 seconds and this wiped away all of my settings. Its now named linkys with no password.

When i type in 198.168.0.1 nothing comes up. A long time ago i had changed it because we had two routers in my house but the second has since been removed. it was either this one that was .0.1 or the changed one was.0.101. When i type either in it just tells me that the connection has timed out.

So, i go into comand promt and do the ipconfig/all and look for my default gateway and when i find it i get the text located in the picture

Please help, i would like my router to be secured as soon as possible

Solution
Try this:
Disable the wireless on your laptop.
Hold the reset button on the Linksys router for 30 seconds.
Disconnect the LAN cable from the modem and router.
Plug the LAN cable into one of the LAN ports on the router and into your laptop.
Go into Command Prompt and run ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew.
Run ipconfig /all and see what IP and Default Gateway you get.
Try to connect to the IP of the Gateway (it should be 192.168.0.1 now)

When i do it takes me to the xfinity login page. Which, ive never been to before. That is my isp but shouldnt i be looking for linkys page?

Are you connected to the "linksys" wireless network when you ran this ipconfig?
Linksys default IP is 192.168.0.1 usually so the fact that you are getting 10.0.0.1 as the gateway makes me think you are connecting to the Comcast Gateway instead.
Since you reset your router, your laptop is no longer seeing your custom wireless network and might be going to the next preferred network, which is the Comcast Gateway (I'm guessing).
You need to be connected to the "linksys" wireless network to be able to access the router at 192.168.0.1

i am connected to linksys but it doesnt show up. and 192.168.0.1 doesnt work. http://s29.postimg.org/56i8zxnqv/image.png
