I am trying to set up a second router as a slave, which will be hard wired from main router, due to need to extend wi-fi to a dead area of house.
Current router: Plusnet Hub One all working fine.
Bought second hand BT Home Hub 4 to use as slave.
At present I am doing set-up with everything next to PC.
When I started the exercise a couple of days ago, going through Command Prompt/ ipconfig/all I had a Default Gateway for the BT router, went into settings and changed IP address to match main router and the wireless password. Didn't get everything sorted so went to start from scratch again and have found there is no Default Gateway shown from ipconfig:
ie

I have done reset, turned off and removed cables restarted but still no joy. The BT router hub light starts as green then changes to orange with broadband light flashing red.

I haved manage to access the properties of the BT router by hardwiring to Plusnet router and going via Network and Sharing Centre and right clicking to get properties, but all TCP/IP settings are Not available. Not sure if this configeration contributes t this

I have not knowing changed any other settings for Plusnet router or PC. Only thing I did do was to hardwire new TV to set that up, but that was done through Plusnet router, with BT one unconnected - may be coincidence, maybe not.

Would have accepted some degree of incompatibility between routers if there had been problem from start. It's the fact things were going ok and now they're not! Have I somehow just bggr*d second router?

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance
