default to tv speaker

i have a samsung blueray and i have to reset the speakers to the TV Speakers every time i turn it on. is there a way to get it to default to them? the surround sound leaves a dead space in front of the TV

You could try turning off CEC in the TV menu. It may have another name (Samsung calls it Anynet+).
Your center channel speaker is supposed to "fill the dead space in front of the TV". Check the set up on the Samsung. You can turn the center speaker up if you want more dialogue.

thank u american. my son had setup the system when he lived in my basement. found the center speaker on the floor (my treadmill blocked me from seeing it). elevated it, and now it fills the dead space.
