So I have an older iMac and I guess there was a recall on the hard drives, but I have almost a TB of information it and I sent the HD in to apple and they were able to recover some of the information but were not able to extract it from the drive. You can only see the files when plugging in the hard drive into a computer. Are you able to recover the information from a defective hard drive? If anyone has an idea or solution please help!

It just started to not work, so I had apple repair it instead of replace it, and they were able to recover a small portion of the information but you cannot do anything with the data, it just is visible but can me exported. Sorry, I'm not huge into hard drive repair, but will the software do all of it with the sector by sector?
