a double channel ram should have a larger throughput allowing it to proccess more information than single channel ram. 6 gb double channel ram is telling you the ammount of ram (6 gb) and that the ram is double channel meaning it should process more information faster than single channel ram. As to whether or not it is better that can be a very technical question and could mean many different things depending on whether you are looking at performance, timing, or voltage use.
