Hi

Does Defrag give you any error message when it stops? Have you tried Defrag
form Safe Mode - if so, does it complete?

Run CHKDSK.
Go to Start, Run and type:
cmd
Push Enter and then type:
c:
Push Enter and then type:
cd \
Push Enter and then type:
chkdsk /r
Push Enter. You'll be told it can't because the drive is
locked, and would you like it to run the next time you
boot.
Type "y" and then reboot.

CHKDSK is normal maintenance everyone with Windows NT,
2000, or XP should be doing at least once a month, with
normal-to-heavy usage.
