Hey guys, a friend of mine run by mistake a defragment on my 850 evo, I got Windows 7. Could this possibly harm my ssd? He said he wanted to trim but he didn't see a trim option in degragmenter like Windows 10. I turned off the scheduled degragmenter after this and I did a check with a free tool that showed 100% health status and lifespan till 2025. I also wanted to double check it by asking the community. Thank you in advance.

Solution
Defragmentation does not "damage" your SSD.
SSD has in theory limited write or re-write cycles before it kicks the bucket.
It will hit the bucket by normal usage too.
By running defragmentation, you took away some of those cycles similar to normal usage. But...This time unnecessary and quite a more than normal usage.
It will not harm your SSD right away but it should shorten your SSD live, theoretically. Just do not run this anymore.
Windows 7 should already have built-in trim function.
Windows 7 should already set trim to active on SSD automatically without having you to manually set it.
Deactivate any automatic defragmentation manually, if Windows 7 did not deactivate this already.

Thank you so much for your fast response, I already turned off the scheduled tool for defragments but if I understood your message correctly, it already damaged my ssd? I didn't let it finish, after the analyze processes I stopped it at the defragment process at about 90%

You should be fine ZeroFLUcharismA but yes do not defrag an SSD, there is no need.
With the advent of the Trim command , Windows will automatically trim your disks when setup to do trim.
You can check in windows if trim is enabled, go here: https://www.howtogeek.com/257196/how-to-check-if-trim-is-enabled-for-your-ssd-and-enable-it-if-it-isnt/
