defraq second hard drive while using computer

I have several hard drives installed to use for storage; music mostly. The C dive is an SSD (C) and my documents and some programs are on another hard drive (H).

The storage and backup drive (J) needs to be defragged. I suppose I could just try it and see what happens but it seems prudent to ask if there is any known problem defragging a drive not in use while checking email, etc with the C and H drives.

No problem, because defragmentation does not require a disc dismount
