Hello,

I has a Windows server 2008 R2 with the following storage configuration:

c:\ 150gb RAID1 along 2 hard drives
d:\ 4TB RAID 5 along 4 hard drives

I decided to upgrade the server to 2016 but did not want to risk any data loss on the d:\ so I pulled the drives out before I started the upgrade. Once the upgrade was complete I booted the server and ran the updates. Once the updates were done I turned the server off, plugged in the d:\ and booted the server. The server reaches the Windows boot screen and restarts. It cannot reach the home screen on the server. However, when the server boots the RAID status is degraded. How do I fix this?

Solution
One hard drive was dead in the RAID 5 configuration. Took it out, installed new one and it rewrote the new drive back to how the original drive was. System boots to windows server 2016 without error. Thanks Tim's hardware for all your help.
