Hi,

Recently, I have been having problems communicating with
my girlfriend in Spain. I am from the UK. Both of us use
home DSL connections, and MSN Messenger version 6.2. The
problem started around the 6th October (about 1 week now)
and is happening randomly. I use Windows XP and she uses
Windows 98. Please allow me to describe it.

Sporadically, when I send instant messages, she claims to
receive them, but I do not receive some of her replies -
it either arrives very late or no messages at all. The
ping response between our computers are around 130 - 250
ms on average, and I feel that this is normal. The only
solution to this problem is for her or me to log off MSN
and log back on again.

Unless she is being untruthful, could you kindly advise
me if this is normal and how to rectify this problem as I
have no problems chatting to my other contacts.

Thank you !

Sincerely,
Dinesh Kumar

Hi,

It seems to be ok now... Perhaps Microsoft finally
corrected this fault, after ages! :)

Also, you may want to check for spyware using Ad-aware,
Spybot Search and Destroy (use both). Spyware and other
illegal programs may use valuable bandwidth which slows
your connection down considerably.

Good luck !
