Accidentally deleted my boot recovery partition. Doh! I haven't turned off my PC since.
The 100mb boot partition is still there, but a 16GB boot recovery partition has gone. I've scanned it and recovered all the data (I think) but I can't restore it as it's not visible within windows. I have a boot repair disk and the Acer recovery disks I burnt when I first had the PC. I don't have a Windows 7 disc.
I'm not 100% sure of the consequences of what I've done, or what happens if I just reboot the PC.
Any suggestions for the best way to proceed?

I strongly suspect that that partition is the one for restoring the machine to factory state, and you can reboot just fine. No version of Windows has that large a system partition.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I was hoping that was the case. Is it possible that the machine would fail to boot because it couldn't find that partition though?
Also, is there a way I can restore this recovery partition do you think? I'm nervous in case the PC doesn't re-boot (either now or at a later date) and I can't reset it because the restore files have gone.
. . . .
OK, I've just rebooted the machine without any problems. Many thanks!
I'm still slightly unsure as to what would happen if my machine fails in the future; would my boot repair discs still work?
