I had steam installed on my H:\ Hard Drive and wanted to move it to my F:\ SSD. I uninstalled it using the Windows uninstall programs feature, then reinstalled it onto my F:\ SSD. Everything is fine, I can open Steam, except for the fact that when I try to open it through the Windows Search Bar nothing happens. There is no error message, I just press enter or click the Steam entry and nothing happens. What I'm assuming is it's still trying to open from the old directory, but let me know what you think. I have tried rebuilding my index and using Ccleaner to find any issues, but so far it still doesn't work.

so it not finding the steam at all.
The search for "steam" is finding steam, just clicking it does nothing.

did you move steam or just a library? as if was a library, there was an easier way... inside steam. I don'/t know if its a registry problem or just a steam problem.
I uninstalled using Windows' "Add or remove programs" feature and then used the Steam installer to download it onto my SSD. I'm not aware of a way to move Steam from within the program, but let me know if you do know of anything like that :)

Have you done a restart since?

It might have helped to uninstall steam, restart and then install it again, as windows doesn't always wipe old folders right away and needs a restart so it clears the registers.
I think I uninstalled, reinstalled and then restarted - I'll try that in a bit though and let you know how it goes.

Try uninstalling with Geek.

Just Double click on the program in Geek, that you want to uninstall. If it opens a web page, close the web page & then wait for Geek to present the 2nd step.

Have tried uninstalling then restarting, but it still appeared in search even though Steam was uninstalled.

Tried using Geek, it found some files after uninstalling but Steam was still in my Search menu.

So I found this forum thread:
I tried what it said and made a new user: when I searched for Steam there was nothing there, so it's a problem with my user account. Anything I can do to fix it?

Wow it looks like you use a lot of garbage software that probably put malware all over your system. Nasty. Horrible recommendations
