deleted photos are still on my pc

I deleted my photos, and deleted the recycle bin but the photos are still on my pc. I'm trying to free up disk space.

Are you sure you didn't restore them from the recycle bin, rather than empty the recycle bin? Before you emptied the recycle bin, where they gone from the location they were originally?

did you delete the shortcut or the actual pic?
