Hi there,

I recently tried using the Aorus smart backup software that was provided along with my PC. It automatically made an image backup of my C: and updates it daily, though I dont have much control over it, nor can I find and forum posts or videos which helps me guide through the software itself.

I posted earlier about the software itself asking if there was answer, it resulted with the suggestion I should switch to a freeware backup software that is more known and safe.

Anyway, I'm trying to delete the Aorus backup so I can do it again with Macrium. Though I ran out of space on my second drive!

How do I delete the drive?
Whenever I try to, it gives me a prompt it's being used by the System And that I cannot access it at all.( 900gb+ on my 2tb hdd )

Tried googling about the topic, and I got answers such as downloading Lockhunter to force the deletion. Though Im not sure if thats a safe way of doing it.

Is there a different and more safe way of doing this?

Really appreciate it !

Solution
The big purple thing....

Right click...what options does it give you?
" Explorer here" ?

If so, can you simply DELETE from there?

If not, you may have to turn off/disable the AORUS backup thing first and reboot.

As far as a reliable backup tool, Macrium Reflect.
That is my daily thing.

Can't tell from those narrow screencaps.

Try this:
Install and run either WinDirStat, or WizTree.

Run as Administrator, selecting only the drive in question.
Post a screencap here.

From there, maybe we can identify what is needed to go.

Appreciate the quick response!

This should be it, Im not entirely sure if I did it right;

( Translating it to English )
"The alteration cannot be completed because the file is opened in System".

Doesnt allow my to simply right click delete, tried closing anything related to the software in task manager aswell. havent tried to disabling / rebooting afterwards though.

I will immediately try that, thank you.
