Deleting OS Without Formatting

Okay, I want to do a fresh install of Windows 7 onto an SSD, then use my HDD which currently has Windows 7 on it for extra storage. However, I don't want to be prompted about which drive to boot from, nor do I want useless OS files on my spare drive.

I don't have another drive to backup files to, so backing up then formatting isn't an option. What can I do to delete the OS files entirely and structure the drive like you would a typical backup drive?

Haven't bought the SSD yet, trying to figure this out first. I'm thinking 60GB maybe though. The HDD is 320GB.

Depending on the usage of the HDD (if you only use 40GB for examples of out 320GB) then you can clone your drive to your SSD, then go the the HDD and just delete the C:\Windows folder and any other related folders you don't find useful any more.

Problem solved! The size of the SSD will be based on the currently usage of the HDD. For example, if you are already using 130/320GB, then obviously you can't clone to a 64GB SSD and you will need to purchase at least a 160GB SSD.

Does that make sense?
