I have problem deleting two partitions on my one HDD. Everytime I tried deleting them, they will display "Parameter is incorrect". I've been thinking that it still being use by the system because everytime my windows 10 updated to latest version there will be folder called $WINDOWS.~TMP, this probaby started when I migrated my OS from HDD to SSD then plug-in old HDD ( have 3 partitions include the System) and reformat only the old System Partition.

Solution
Hi

To check it is safe to remove partitions on HDD,
(power down & disconnect from mains)
unplug the old hard disk power & data cables

then boot up off SSD

If there are no error messages you are probably OK to remove partitions on HDD

If you cant delete partitions from within Wndows (on the SSD) you probably need to boot up off a USB memory stick or CD with a Win PE or Linux disk comtaining a partition manager
.
There are several companies providing a free restricted version of their disk management software

Or gparted linux boot disk
