Deleting the history of opened files in Open-window

How can I clear the history of previously opened files that appears by
clicking the down-arrow next to the File Name -box? Where does Windows store
this information? I have Windows XP Home Edition.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Clear Recent documents history, Run, Open/Save box MRU and Typed URLs:

To manually clear the entries, check these registry paths:

Common Dialog - Open
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\LastVisitedMRU
Common Dialog - Save As
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\OpenSaveMRU

Which version of Media Player? Check Tools, Options, Privacy, "Clear History" button.
