Hello all,

I am in need of help here, after going though google and finding nothing I thought I would ask the experts.

I made the mistake of installing windows 7 on an older dual core machine for my daughter and swiftly installed XP over it. I did not format due to the content on the drive.

I now have Windows and WINDOWS.0 on the C drive aswel as Program Files (x86).

Can someone please advise on how to delete windows 7 fully?

I have tried using the cleanup tool on xp with no luck

Many thanks in advance.

Does it prompt you which OS to select at boot? If it does not, and only XP loads, you can just delete the Windows 7 directory. Look for a license file in the System32 folder, that will tell you what version is in that Windows folder. If it's 7, you can delete that Windows directory.
