I have an old hard drive from my old laptop, I built a new computer and got a new hard drive and new version of win7 with it. BUT i want to use my old hard as it has all my stuff on it, the issue is i don't know how to uninstall the windows on it/keep all my files and have windows uninstalled.(i dont have a hard drive to perfourm a back up to) How would i go about uninstalling windows and keeping my files intact?

Solution
Buy an external hard drive.
Install your old hard drive in your new PC (it doesn't matter that it's got a Windows installation on it).
Plug in the external hard drive.
Copy your files from the old hard drive to the external one.
Then you can re-format the old hard drive from within Windows.

I then suggest you copy your files from external drive back to your old hard drive so you have a backup, since a backup is absolutely essential.
