Hey, I just upgraded to an SSD and installed a fresh copy of windows onto it. I would like to delete windows off of my old hard drive and delete the old drivers off of it as well. I have a bunch of games on it that i'd rather not have to re-download so is there any way of doing this without formatting the drive?

Thanks

You could attempt to copy over the game folders to the SSD reformat it, then move them back afterwards, however this usually does not work and will possibly require you to reinstall them again because of the Windows registry entries will be different for each title. I do try this when I reformat sometimes, and in some cases. You can carry out an install repair with some games, or re-verify Steam games which does not involve the full install process and can save some time. But usually its best just to reformat and reinstall.

I would make backups of the save game directories if you are planning to reformat an OS drive.
