Dell 1700

My daughter is hankering for a Dell 1700 which is a low end Laser
printer. I am suspicious that it is not very good. Anyone on this
board have any experience with it?

Are there any Laser printers in the $300 range you can recommend?

I hear that Samsung is fair. HP may be OK. I also heard that reports
on the Brother is not bad. If I wanted a laser I would look to PCWORLD
and PCMAG. I would probably spend a little more and stick with HP.
