i got the 5537 with radeon hd 8850m GDDR5
i7 4500u
8 GB Ram
and far cry 3 works fine in middle quality +35 frames
but i wanted to ask people who own the laptop something about the processor, it's supposed to be 1.8Ghz up to 3.0Ghz but when i open my computer's properties i see it's 1.8Ghz 2.4Ghz
can someone tell me if this is something wrong with my laptop or is it normal with this type of model.

Yes you are correct, your processor should run at 1.8GHz and Turbo Boost up to 3.0GHz when under heavy load; not 2.4GHz. However Intel Turbo Boost and SpeedStep boost the frequency dependant upon usage, and may not always boost up to 3GHz, it may boost up between 1.8GHz to 3GHz, and may not always hit 3GHz.

Although Windows is reporting a maximum frequency of 2.4GHz, which others users have the same issue; when they did a stress test, the frequency did in fact boost up to 3GHz, so this is not really an issue to be concerned about. Your CPU is still functioning as expected.

With that said, can I please get a screenshot of your CPU tab on the software called CPU-Z (you can download a non-installer version from their respective site)...

This will provide a more accurate reading of your CPU, compared to Windows. The Properties in Windows is static, so it'll always show 2.4GHz, instead of change accordingly (please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Also please may I ask, did you upgrade to that processor, or did it come shipped with your laptop?

All the best. :)
