This is my current setup:

CPU
i9-9900K @ 3.60 GHz
32GB DDR4 G.Skill 3200
Z390 AORUS PRO-CF
1TB Samsung 970 PRO SSD
Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC 2GB DDR5
DISPLAY
Dell U3014 30" 2560×1600
4 × Dell U2412M 24" 1920×1200

You may notice the extremely old GPU, but it has 4 ports and I daisy chain one screen off the 30" Dell.

Now, I am looking seriously at upgrading the Dell 30" to the 32" 8K monitor which will increase the ppi from around 100ppi to more like 278ppi with 7680×4320. I would like to add that I am not a gamer, but I want this for typesetting rig.

Clearly my current graphics card is not going to be able to run this screen because I either need a 1.4 DP or 2×1.2 DP and I doubt the card would manage it, but even if it did, I will still have 3 or 4 other monitors.

So my thinking was to use my current Radeon HD 7850 for my other displays and then buying a new card just for the new monitor.

Dell says the following on their site:
“nVidia GeForce series : GTX1070/1080 Quadro series : P5000/6000 AMD Radeon series : RX480. AMD Radeon Pro series : WX7100". For 8K you need two DP inputs and those cables are included. Most new higher end cards have two outputs.”

Does anybody know if any of these cards are preferable with my current card? For example, am I better off with Radeon because I currently have Radeon and will 2 cards even fit in my computer?

Anyway insights are very welcome.
